the ramblings of a software engineer

Following Bob Familiar’s presentation on Windows development – wondering if he will mention anything about WinForms development in VS2010.

Side note – it was a real tease, they gave us a 90-day trial of VS2010 Ultimate. Currently, our MSDN subscription only gave us VS2010 Premium – which was fine until I saw Intellitrace earlier today. Now I must must must have Ultimate…

Meanwhile, trying to work on enumerating IGroupLayer in ArcObjects – code coming on that soon. Very very annoying to iterate through the map layers with the geoprocessor… :\

Hello. I arrived here from following a post you made on the Linked in users group for .Net.

Just wanted to say intellitrace is one of those features that ought to provide a big lift but in practice never does. Anywhere I’ve ever wanted to unwind the stack to see an error, normal stack tracing has given me the same information without the lag in the IDE. Don’t get me started on threading … you really have to roll your own debugging framework for that.
